Located on the Sheraton Hotel Anchorage, this camera points east toward the mountains. The inbound car traffic on the left is 5th Avenue and the outbound car traffic on the right is 6th Avenue. Traffic moving left to right across the frame is on Gambell and the traffic moving right to left is on Ingra. Also visible is Merrill Field. The outbound 6th Avenue merges with the inbound 5th Avenue just short of Merrill Field and turns into the Glenn Highway.
This camera is located on the Denali Towers North office building in Midtown Anchorage and is pointed South-East. The large single-story tan structure in the center of the view is the Sears Mall and in front of it runs Northern Lights Blvd., a one-way street moving East to West. Behind the mall is Benson Blvd., a one-way street moving West to East. The single-story building complex at the center left of the picture is the Fred Meyer shopping mall and between the two runs the New Seward Highway in a North-South direction. The high-rise building in the center of the picture is an office building.
Live from the corner of 4th and D Street, Anchorage, Alaska. Camera is pointed at Balto, a legendary sled dog. The cam also shows the sled dog mushers and their dogs on the days of the Fur Rendezvous World Championship Sled Dog Races and the Iditarod Ceremonial Start!
Webcam placed eight miles from Anchorage, at the Glenn Highway Weigh Station, pointing west, offering a nice view of the Glenn Highway and the entrance to the weigh station.
The Hilton Hotel roof provides this view of one of the more famous Anchorage landmarks. Mount Susitna is about 10 air miles west of Anchorage across the Cook Inlet and rises to an elevation of 4,396 feet above sea level. This mountain sits between the Chugach Range to the south of Anchorage and the Alaska Range to the north. We used a 4X telephoto lens to get you up close. Visible in the foreground is the Small Boat Dock and the Cook Inlet.
